Who am I?

This blog is published by Hames Robinson Associates, which is the business name for me, Richard Robinson. I specialise in business and IT governance, management and assurance for organisations, projects and programmes of all kinds. I have worked in most sectors and for some of the largest and most prestigious organisations in the world - Accenture, Citibank, AIG, American Express, RBS, LloydsTSB...

I also build lifecycles (and that's the part I enjoy most, though an American colleague described me as 'deranged' for just this reason). I first trained formally at Accenture (where I was methods lead for the EMEA region and part of the global methodoloy team). Later I developed lifecycles for American Express, Citibank, Sainsbury (one of the UK's biggest supermarkets), Bupa (one of the word largest healthcare companies), RBS Coutts (yes, the Queen's private bank), AIG (yes, the world's largest bailout), Spherion (then the world's largest testing consultancy), Churchill Insurance (one of the UK's biggest general insurers), and many smaller organisations - plus the Ministry of Defence, the Foreign Office and various other arms of the British government.
